Our Programs
ReThink Citizens makes ReThink’s offerings available to underserved communities. It also equips youth to be agents for change in the fight against hate.
Digital Wellness Curriculum
In this age-specific curriculum, budding digital citizens learn what cyberbullying is and how to confront it; they also learn the fundamentals of responsible digital citizenship, taking away key skills like device time management and how to be an Upstander, not a bystander to problematic digital behavior. Each curriculum – for elementary, middle, and high school students – includes 18 lessons of content. The curriculum comes with an accompanying facilitator guide, student workbook, and parental resources.
Behavioral Technology
The educational ReThink technology detects offensive content before it is sent by a user and instantaneously prompts the user to pause, review, and rethink. In doing so, it creates “friction” in the user’s digital experience and gives users, especially youth a chance to carefully consider the consequences of their actions. Often, this leads young users to reconsider their words and instead say something that is more positive and not hurtful/rude.
Anti-Hate Youth Advocacy
We aim to support youth-led initiatives to tackle online hate – and even offer passionate youth change agents the resources to get started! One of our most popular initiatives are our “ReThink chapters,” an effort through which students receive a starter pack to launch an anti-hate and digital literacy initiative at their educational institution or in their community. By putting youth voices front and center in the fight against cyberbullying, we hope to realize by and for today’s young people.
